During this session hear from Wendy Wysong, Managing Partner, Steptoe, TRACE’s designated Partner Firm in Hong Kong as she provides an overview of the current state of anti-corruption law and enforcement in key countries in the Asia Pacific including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Malaysia. Sharing recent updates to anti-corruption regulation in each country, Wendy will also address corporate enforcement actions in the region from the past year, including compliance takeaways from key cases. An added benefit of this session, Wendy will also briefly discuss the top areas of anti-corruption risk exposure for global MNCs operating in the region as well as recommendations for how to effectively address these issues as part of your compliance program and on-the-ground business operations.

Wendy Wysong focuses her practice on regulatory compliance and white-collar defense of international laws, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), US sanctions laws and regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and US anti-boycott laws, as well as the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). She represents clients throughout the United States and Asia, particularly regarding issues arising from the various US government "blacklists," including the Department of Commerce Entity List and OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals List and non-SDN Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Companies List. Wendy is the managing partner of Steptoe's Hong Kong office and global co-leader of the Investigations and White-Collar Defense practice group.
