This month, a number of enforcement actions were announced, with General Cable Corporation, Mondelēz International, Inc., Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. and Orthofix International N.V. all settling allegations by U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”) and/or the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).  
 
Also this month, Rolls-Royce Holdings plc agreed to pay more than US $1.2 billion in penalties and disgorgement to resolve investigations by the DOJ, the U.K. Serious Fraud Office and the Brazilian Ministério Público Federal. And following a settlement made with the SEC in April 2016, Las Vegas Sands Corp. agreed to pay US $6.9 million in a settlement with the DOJ.
